Located conveniently on Martintown Road next to Fred’s, the Family YMCA of North Augusta is a perfect addition to the North Augusta community. The Family YMCA of North Augusta offers a state-of-the-art wellness center (including cardio machines and free weights), two group exercise studios, men’s/women’s locker rooms, kids watch area for kids ages 8 weeks to 12 years old. When joining the North Augusta branch, you choose to join as either a Branch specific member or as a Metro member, which gives you access to all Family YMCA locations. There’s something for everyone of all ages, including our youngest members with seasonal day camp and monthly Parent’s Night Out. CrossFit is the principal strength and conditioning program for many police academies and tactical operations teams, military special operations units, champion martial artists, and hundreds of other elite and professional athletes worldwide. The program delivers a fitness that is, by design, broad, general and inclusive. The specialty isn’t specializing. Combat, survival, many sports and life reward this kind of fitness and, on average, punish the specialist. The CrossFit program is designed for universal scalability making it the perfect application for any committed individual regardless of experience. The same routines are used for elderly individuals with heart disease and cage fighters one month out from televised bouts. The program scales load and intensity to accommodate everyone but do not change the programs.
