Marshall Family Y Announces Move to New Location

The Family Y announced that the Marshall Family Y will relocate to a new, expanded location at Evans Town Park on Belair Road. The renovation of the space will begin immediately with an early summer 2010 opening planned. The new facility will offer expanded amenities and services in 19,000 square feet; the current facility on Washington Road offers 11,900 square feet.
             
The new facility will include an 8,000 square foot fitness center including cardio equipment with cardio theater, state-of-the-art plate load weight equipment and additional free weights, and an additional 20 pieces of cardio equipment. There will also be an expanded spinning room with approximately 30 bikes and larger group exercise rooms. The new facility will also feature expanded childcare areas including a dedicated baby room, pre-toddler room, toddler room, and kids clubhouse. Complimentary childcare is provided for Family Y members while working out. This new location will allow for a greater capacity for Family Y programs such as Parent's Night Out and group fitness. The Marshall Family Y also offers summer and holiday day camps and a variety of seasonal youth sports.
       
The expanded facility in Evans Town Park will be located on the 2nd and 3rd levels facing Belair Road. There are four entrances into the Park off of Belair and Hereford Farms Road. There will be double the parking space over the current facilities. Evans Town Park is a 52-acre property with 300,000 square feet of office/medical space. Development began two years ago and construction of three additional buildings is planned for 2010. The new building where the Marshall Family Y will be located was completed one year ago. Businesses located in the retail level of the building include Takosushi, Tangles Salon, Elite Jewelry, and Blanchard and Calhoun's Columbia County Real Estate Office.
